I was pretty damn excited when I was able to photo Green Day at the beginning of the year and then they came back to Denver again during Revolution Radio? Awesome.
Billie Joe Armstrong was in rare form at Fiddler’s Green, as you have probably seen by the videos of him smashing his guitar on a promotional Subaru in the ampitheatre. OK, maybe it wasn’t an exactly rare thing for Billie Joe to do, but the crowd went nuts. Personally, as much as I do adore Subarus, I wish the dude had gone after the karaoke car that sits out in the food area – something I have often tweeted that drives me nuts.
The show itself was fantastic. Exactly what you want from a Green Day concert. Lots of loud music and opinions.
We photographers had to stay put in the pit, but lucky for us Billie Joe at least paces up and down the stage like a caged tiger. Not to say that Mike Dirnt or Tré Cool are boring. They are every bit as raucous and talented as their lead singer.
