I’m not sure how I found The Lone Below, but I love their self-titled 2013 album. And the song “Then Came The Morning” (from the album of the same name) is probably one of my all-time favorite songs. This trio produces lush, beautiful music, so I wasn’t expecting the raucous show they brought to Denver’s Gothic Theatre recently.
Frontman Zach Williams was all over the stage but still boomed with his incredible, distinctive voice. Bandmates Kanene Donehey Pipkin and Brian Elmquist sing really damn well too – and took charge themselves at various parts of the night. The setlist was long, in the best way. Like, I didn’t want them to stop.
I especially love watching bands who clearly love playing together. It was most evident when the three came together at the end of the night and sang acoustically together.
Check out The Lone Bellow’s latest album Walk Into A Storm and definitely see them live if you can. They head to the southeast into the summer.
