Resort Review: Villa Del Palmar Cancun

We are always up for a good deal and when I got a notification that¬†Villa Del Palmar Cancun was on sale right after the New Year, I couldn't resist a quick trip back down to the ocean. Bryan was banned from our girls-only trip in…

Photos: Lost Lake Festival Phoenix Day Three

I'm almost sad that this is my last post of photos from Lost Lake Festival 2017. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely consider going back next year. I also loved how each day had a tone for the style of music - Day 3 was geared towards EDM and hip-hop fans. I got to see a bunch of bands all together that I might not go see separately and all of them blew me away. I particularly enjoyed headliner Odesza, who brought the drums - marching band style. I was also impressed how several acts worked through intense heat that was causing technical glitches - even after equipment was wrapped up in solar protection. And everyone was friendly - for example, Murs came out to the pit and shook fans' hands before his set.

Photos: Lost Lake Festival Phoenix Day Two

Wow. Day two of Lost Lake Festival really kicked it into gear. The crowds were measurably larger - I am sure in part that it was a Saturday, and also certainly due to the killer (hahaha) lineup. I had so many photos; below is only a fraction of them - I had to cut them significantly to get the gallery to actually load! One of the main reasons I attended Lost Lake was to see The Killers and they did not disappoint. Of course, they have now added a Denver date in February, so I am excited to see them twice in such a short time period. Another big highlight of the day was Huey Lewis. Yes, I am a child of the 80s and I love 80s music and I love how much this hip, indie music crowd loved Huey.
Riu Palace Peninsula Cancun - Hotel Review

Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula Review: Luxury and Ease in Cancun

Note: Riu Hotels provided my stay, however all words and photos are mine.
Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula - Cancun Resort Travel I was lucky enough to add a day at the beginning and end of my recent trip to Tulum to visit Cancun for the first time - and two Riu resorts: The Riu Palace Peninsula and the Riu Palace Las Americas, which I will cover in another post. I know - it's crazy that we often visit Mexico and I have never been to this hub, right? What I discovered is how EASY it is from Denver. I got early morning direct flights to Cancun, a quick shuttle ride and I was on the beach by mid-afternoon. I'll be honest, Cancun has always intimidated me because of its "party" reputation. We, of course, like to have fun and go out a lot ... but we aren't interested in an insanely wild location (usually, ha). Maybe during Spring Break Cancun is a bit different, but I found the Riu hotels we visited to be exactly what I was looking for. Luxury for adults-only, on the beach, with good food and amenities - plus a nice, friendly atmosphere. Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula - Cancun Resort Travel
