You know a band is killer live when the photographers in the pit are making OMG faces as each other during our three songs. That was the case when Future Islands played Fillmore Denver recently. Frontman Samuel Herring was all over the stage – and not in the usual “oh yeah, the frontman was all over the stage” way we usually talk about. He was like a caged animal pacing back and forth, as well as doing some moves that can only be described as speed skating while he belted out Future Islands’ indie pop sound.
I like Future Islands 100 times more after seeing them live, and that is always a good thing. (Bonus points for being from my hometown of Baltimore, too.) 😁
