Keggs & Eggs Concert Photos 2017: Green Beer & Great Music

St. Patrick’s Day is a big holiday in many cities. In Denver, it means Keggs & Eggs, a morning concert put on by KTCL Channel 93.3.

Keggs & Eggs Denver Concert Photos 2017 - American Authors

Morning… meaning REALLY REALLY REALLY early. This year, the show moved to Blake Street Tavern but continued to be as packed as ever, even with an overflow parking lot and jumbotron to broadcast out there. There was tons (and I mean tons) of green Coors Light and great bands to enjoy it with. American Authors, Bishop Briggs and Bryce Fox played throughout the day and Denver’s great weather delivered – with temperatures near 80. Spring has officially arrived! Continue reading…

Dashboard Confessional with Vinyl Theatre at Summit Denver

Another band I have always wanted to photograph but somehow always missed was Dashboard Confessional. Everyone told me how great Chris Carrabba and his crew were… and yup. Denver’s Summit Music Hall was full and ready to rock out to nearly 20 years of music.

Vinyl Theatre was a perfect opening back to set the mood.

Dashboard Confessional is often called an emo band, and sure – the emotion is there in the lyrics. But no one was sad that these guys are back together and touring again.

Calling Down the Mountain with AT&T and Arapahoe Basin

Note: This post is sponsored by AT&T but all words and photos are mine.

AT&T Coverage at Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort in Colorado

Colorado. Mountains. Winter. Snow. Fun. They just go together. One of my favorite places for all these together is “The Legend”, Arapahoe Basin. For 20+ years I’ve been riding in Colorado, and A-Basin has always been the place I enjoy most. I’m certain a lot of it is personal preference, but I like how it’s not the posh and polished apres ski focused village. It’s where you go when you want to find out what you can really ride, and enjoy friends looking to find the same. I’ve sat on the lifts with random ski dogs (literally, furry fun-loving dogs), and relaxed at the base, aka “The Beach,” grilling hotdogs with new pals I just met. Continue reading…

Under The Bus

If you know my husband Bryan, he had crazy hair throughout his teen years. He got grief about it and swore he would let our kid do what he wanted.

So, Dex had his hair longer for a while. Every single time I talked to mom, she said he needed a haircut.

Then when Dex wanted to color his hair bright blue and purple, I knew mom would be, um, less than thrilled. I prepped her for it slowly and also warned Dex that his Oma would never like it.

Yeah, she didn’t. 😬

On the night mom passed away, Bryan and Dex made it just in time. We had about a half hour of real lucid time together. Her eyes got huge when she saw Dex, she lifted her hand to his face as he leaned over her, and she said, “You’re so big!”

We then had Dex come stand next to me so she could really see how much he had grown – slightly taller than me now at 5’10”. She just kept shaking her head. “So big.”

We sat down with her and chatted for a bit and I said, “So, mom, what do you think of Dex’s crazy hair?” It’s quite faded right now, but still blue on the ends.

She smiled and said, “Good.”

I said, “Oh yeah? Well, he wants to color it bright red next. I am against it. I don’t think it will suit his face.”

She smiled and nodded. “No. That will be fun.”

We all burst out laughing as I said, “MOM! THANKS FOR THROWING ME UNDER THE BUS!”

And you KNOW that Dex has brought it up more than once since… that *HIS OMA* said he could get hair done red.

Seriously.

THANKS, MOM.  ❤️

DNCE Photos From Sold Out Denver Concert

Is it “Dance” or “D-N-C-E?” … I have asked myself that since Joe Jonas started his new project and the song “Cake By The Ocean” was on constant repeat.

It’s “D-N-C-E”, for the record, as I found out at the band’s sold out show at the Summit in January. While Joe is just as captivating as you would expect, the crew in his band are almost more so. Especially bass player Cole Whittle, who was all over the stage, including up on his head doing bicycle legs while still playing.

These guys were my favorite show of the year so far and I can’t wait for them to come back to Denver.
