Chugga Chugga CHOO CHOO

Our friend and old neighbor Doug is a bit of a train buff and invited us to join him on the Georgetown Loop Railroad today. It was an absolutely gorgeous blue sky, bright sun day and the train was a blast. We stopped and did the silver mine tour too, and learned a shitload of useless, yet interesting, information about mining. I even braved the ire of the Tommy Knockers to snap one photo inside the mine. Declan thoroughly dug the train – although the whistle was pretty damn loud, so he was continually covering his ears. By the end of the day, we were all pretty fried from the heat (it was 103 here in Denver today, and not that much cooler up the hill)… but overall it was a very enjoyable way to spend a Saturday!
