Only a Category 1, and maybe Mary Poppins at that.

Aimee: I had a mild night terror last night.

Bryan: Yeah, you sat up and gasped.

Aimee: Yeah. It wasn’t too bad.

Bryan: Do you remember it?

Aimee: It was an open umbrella coming down on me.

Bryan: An umbrella?

Aimee: Yeah. A pink one.

Bryan: [pause.] You were attacked by a pink parasol.

Aimee: Yeah.

Bryan: [pause.] There are worse things.

If you dream of it again, imagine it’s marshmallow so if it lands you can eat it and it will be gone forever!

When you get these night terrors do you suddenly sit up in bed like on that show with the Arquette actress who plays a psychic? Cos that woman drives me crazy and I can’t figure out why her husband doesn’t insist on twin beds.

I’m pretty sure that regardless of colour it would hurt to be whacked by either an umbrella or a parasol. So here’s hoping you sleep better tonight.

AlphaDogma… a lot of times I don’t remember them actually, I just know I feel really really scared in the morning and REALLY REALLY tired.

Many times, Bryan is the one that witnesses them and tells me about them in the morning…

He and I kind of came up with a category system like hurricanes…

Category 1… Mild, I will sit up and gasp maybe (sounds like that Medium show) and then lay back and settle right back down

Category 3… More scared… will do some thrashing, loud talking, heavy breathing, it will go on for 5 minutes or so…

Category 5… Scared out of my fucking mind… up in bed, possibly up out of bed, flailing, punching, seeing people or things over top me, screaming my head off, hyperventilating, goes on and on, won’t settle down…

During some category 5’s I have punched Bryan before. So, yeah, there was a time when he was sleeping in the guest room downstairs.

    Whew. Amazing stuff.

I immediately thought of the show “Medium”, too. I do that sometimes – most notably when the fire alarm goes off in the middle of the night. For no. reason. Hubs says he doesn’t even hear the alarm, just my gasp…

now, a pink umbrella? Too funny.

    WOW.
    Just wow.
