March Greeblepix Contest!

It’s Greeblepix time again! I am having a blast in Austin – but have only taken a handful of photos, and nearly all of the have been from my phone! Argh! I am trying to look at it as a vacation from having to photograph *everything.* At least that’s what I keep telling myself whenever I start to feel shaky.

OK, on to topic at hand. You know I don’t really like to have themes for these contests, but seeing as tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day and all, I think LUCK would be perfect. And NO, I don’t mean I want to see photos of leprechauns and 4 leaf clovers. I mean photos that you got BY ACCIDENT. Your lucky shots. The ones you didn’t intend, but still turned out fabulous.

Either way, you don’t have to stick to the theme, we just want to see your awesome photos!

I can’t wait to see what you bring this month. I will still be light on blogging and heavy on tweeting this week because I am in Austin till Wednesday morning. Yes, the LONG HAUL. So that means, Wednesday afternoon will involve major sleeping, hugging my boys and catching up on American Idol.

AND DON’T FORGET THE BEST PART!!!

The Greeblepix winner will receive a $250 camera equipment rental from Pro Photo Rental!

Meaning: Great equipment from Canon, Nikon, Olympus with free three day shipping (except for a Canadian winner, whose shipping is wrapped into the $250 prize).

How cool is that???

For my shot, I meant to shoot the ride Bryn taking the jump. I was waiting for this for a minute or so. But instead the camera focused on the horse in the foreground. I really like the effect and the rider and her dad both loved the shot.

Yeah, I’m always blown away by the fabulous shots entered in your contest. Mine was taken while I fed a baby in the rocker, so I only had one shot before all hell broke loose. I was trying to get my child to dreamily look out the window, but she gave me pissed off instead. It ended up being a framing picture!

That didn’t come out right. I meant I got a pissed off look from my daughter, not that I got pissed off! Oops!

I consider this a lucky shot – while not perfect, I love it. It shows my dogs personality better than a traditional picture.

Mine was taken on a whim, with a film camera even. It’s a giraffe looking at another giraffe’s butt. And it always cracks me up.

Giving it another shot (haha, nice pun) 🙂

  7. Mommy Melee

This is an awesome photo contest idea! Mine was shot after grabbing my camera and going for a smile. Ended up with a hilarious expression instead.

I thought of the photo that I wanted to enter immediately! I had even named this photo “Lucky Shot” when I posted it to Flickr in 3/2006! And now almost exactly 3 years later I enter it here. FUN! I always look forward to seeing the photos that are entered here every month. People are amazingly talented! I am sure this “theme” will produce some great shots!

Thats so funny about the theme. I didn’t know about it when I selected and posted this photo, but its a total luck shot.

2 yr olds being what they are she had gotten quite particular about getting her picture taken wouldn’t stop walking or talking long enough to let me take a nice pic so I just kept snapping away.
I was thilled to see this photo, something about her hand and the way she’s holding it, I am in love with this photo. It was my desktop at work for along time.

Anyway, hope you’re having fun in Austin, I’ve been enjoying your tweets.

I missed last month, but I seem to be back in the game this month. This is my lucky shot from Halloween. Thanks again for such a great contest.

I just got a shutter release and was playing around with it, not expecting any images to come out. When I opened this up on my screen:
