Declan as Lucy Liu

Yes, I have MORE health issues. My back has been killing me for a week. Like, I am walking at a 45 degree angle for most of the day. Or doing my best Golden Girls impression. Either way, my kid is having a field day making fun of me.

That’s OK, because I am making him do something he’s done his whole life at a rate that is annoying him more than he is annoying me. Well, basically we are in an annoyance spiral right now, but that’s cool as long as he walks on my back.

Yes. Walks on my back.

Like Lucy Liu in Charlie’s Angels.

Except not sexy and not snapping my neck.

I am pretty sure it stems from not bending over for two months – an aftershock of ear surgery. I get massages regularly and have had two huge ones since this started happening. I asked about chiropractors and acupuncture on twitter and got mixed answers. I have been trying to stretch again but it’s slow going.

Any other ideas?

Basically, HELP.

Chiropractor. I was a total skeptic (Dude, no one without a medical degree is messing with MY spine!) but saw how Joey got great results. It’s been a lifesaver. Make sure you ask around and see who people go to. Our guy does the sports teams for one of the universities here and I love him. I’m pain-free about 99.9% of the time, which is way better than it used to be!

I have a heating pad that I sit on hour 2 or 3 hours at a time in the evenings (with the wet heat), reading or knitting or watching TV. That and muscle relaxers 🙂

Yoga, for sure. Yoga fixes everything.

Yeah, I need to do Wii yoga for sure.

And Liz, I am just scared I will have to go to the chiro all the damn time!!

I am disappointed that my younger son is now too heavy to walk on my back.

A good chiro isn’t going to expect you to come in all the time. Agree with everything Builder Mama says about finding a good one. I totally need to do the same thing here.

yoga, yoga, you seek yoga. Not the Wii kind.

I was a complete skeptic of Chiropractic and I have to say that after going now for over a year I am completely and totally convinced! It’s helped with migraines and allergies and sinus issues and lower back pain. It is absolutely worth trying! Hope you feel better.

Get thee to a PT!!! If you are in that much distress, you need to figure out what’s wrong and anything you are doing now could be furthering the damage. I just went through six weeks with a physical therapist and feel like a new woman. They will do muscle stim, massage and help you to stretch and rebuild strength. Highly recommend.

Yeah, I don’t have a problem with that. As long as the person isn’t so heavy that it hurts, you’re good.
