New Year, New Job, New Outlook

Happy 2013!

I feel like we are really in the thick of it now, since Dex when back to school today and Bryan started his new job yesterday.

Yes, you read that right: Bryan… New… Job.

It’s an amazing opportunity that combines all his talents in marketing, tech, design, social media, non-profits. I am so happy he found a challenging position he can really sink his teeth into! And yes, one that provides us with group health insurance!

This semester also marks Dex’s last in elementary school. It is bittersweet as his time there has been full of wonderful memories. Yet, I can feel him growing up quickly, and my guess is he will be ready for middle school in the fall. Will I be ready? The jury is still out.

As for me, I am chugging along with Giese Media. It’s thrilling to have my own clients and take on fantastic work that I love. When people ask me what I am working on now, it’s a mouthful to list off graphic design, web development, social media and photography… but really – those four things are “me” and I am so happy doing all of them.

I feel like I should put a bunch of X’s and O’s at the end of this post because it truly sounds like a letter that would have gone out with a Christmas card, but as you saw, we didn’t actually mail one this year.

And this post is about the future, not the past.

What exciting things are on tap for you in 2013?

Nothing big happening in 2013 for our family.
But I am excited for your family! I hope Bryan’s job works out, and that your client list grows and grows.
    Very happy for you all.

Sounds like a great start to the New Year!

Nothing BIG on tap for the family this year. Perhaps a bathroom overhaul. And I’m running a half marathon. Other than that, just keeping on!

And “nothing” sounds pretty exciting to me too. ;))

Amy – good luck with the big school transition!

Love your blog. This is looking to be an eventful year for me. I am at the other end of the spectrum….both my boys are finally in school all day. I am looking forward to forming my day into something that combines creativity, my passions and have a lot of fun doing it.

    Yay! …on all counts!

I’m hoping to FINALLY get this non-fiction book proposal out the door and continue working on some other projects!

What a blessing he has a job that seems to suit him. So glad to hear it. And, I can relate to your child crossing a milestone. Isn’t it something else? And, finally, I am so excited for your business. You keep doing awesome things. What is on tap for me? I am going to move forward with forming my LLC and pursuing what I love doing. I also want to participate in more speaking engagements and simply enjoy living my life. I am lookign forward to all the great things God has in store for me.

Did you get spammed in the comments?

I’m so happy that B got a new job! Congrats to him and all of you. What a relief!

I’m looking forward to a more mellow 2013 with maybe a little travel to the ocean and maybe making a baby. No big audacious goals for me this year.

    Haha apparently so. Dang!

    In 2012:
    – 2 of our 3 offspring graduated from CSU,
    – my husband got laid off,
    – I had hip replacement surgery, and
    – my husband had emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer (only 5 days after my surgery, when he was supposed to be taking care of ME)

2013 is a question mark, full of potential. I want to get back into hiking with girlfriends and photograph more Colorado scenery. I hope that my daughter (the latter 2012 graduate) finds a satisfying job in her field. Maybe our older son and his wife will have a second child.
