Have you checked out Open Table lately? They have revamped their site, and their brand; it’s really pretty. In celebration of that, they are holding the 100 Open Tables giveaway to show off some of the best places to eat around the country. That means 100 lucky folks in 30 cities will have an incredible dining experience like the one we recently had at Acorn Denver.
We love to eat out. We love to take pictures. We turned into THAT FAMILY when we pulled out our phones during every course. In fact, it because somewhat of a competition between the three of us to see who took the best photo, and I am proud to say, many times – our 12 year old won. Although, frankly, he had an easy target with the food and drinks that kept landing on our table.
Oak Grilled Octopus
Potato gnocci, braised artichokes, house-made chorizo, salsa verde
Tomato Braised Meatballs
Anson Mills stone-ground grits, burrata, basil
Kale & Apple Salad
Candied almonds, parmesan, togarashi
Wood Fired Colorado Trout (my favorite)
Cauliflower, golden raisin, almonds, capers, brown butter vinaigrette
I take full credit for the photos of the cocktails, though. These are the Immortal Marigold (with hand-chipped ice sphere) and the Momo Rino (whipped with egg whites to make it frothy)!
As soon as I started tweeting that we were at Acorn, several people replied how much they loved the place. I can see why. The service was impeccable. Our server was friendly, approachable, and very knowledgable. Which is good, because we needed several of the ingredients explained to us, and dairy avoided for Bryan.
Even the location was fun, with a warehouse feel, inside a building with several other bars, restaurants and shops.
As we were leaving, Dex asked if we could go back for his birthday.
A stamp of approval for sure.
The #100OpenTables giveaway is open until March 24, 2015, and Acorn is one of three Denver restaurants participating.
Plus, there are cities all over the US to choose from. I would be thrilled if one of you won because I know you would have a fabulous experience.
Best of luck!
