On The Record With Mick Rock

New Ovation Show: On The Record With Mick Rock

I am a huge fan of Mick Rock. Of course I am. “The Man Who Shot The Seventies.”  Hell yes. You are a fan too, although you may not know the name by heart, as I do. Mick Rock photographed some of the most iconic bands from that time period through today, including Queen, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, The Ramones, and most famously all those Ziggy Stardust pics of David Bowie.

He is clearly one of my idols as a concert photographer, but he also has a new project with the Ovation channel that brings him out in front of the camera. “On The Record With Mick Rock” will premiere on August 2nd, sharing intimate interviews with a wide variety of musicians including Josh Groban, Flaming Lips, Patti LaBelle and Kings of Leon.

As someone who is working on her first concert photography show later this year, I am in awe of all the people this man has photographed. Pretty much any incredible musician or singer you can name. Mick Rock was David Bowie’s personal photographer for years, so I am not surprised that he names one of his shows as the best ever.

But of course someone as cool as Mick keeps up with the latest in music – here is who he likes now.

All this makes me more excited to see the new show. To be able to watch someone who has grown up in the music industry talk to people in a real way is always the most interesting.

Check out “On The Record With Mick Rock” Sundays on Ovation, starting this Sunday, August 2nd!

(Find the Ovation Channel in your local area here.)

I will be posting more about the show on Facebook and Twitter, as well as getting your answers to the big questions like, “What was the best concert YOU ever attended?”

Note: I was compensated to promote the show but all words are mine. Videos provided by Ovation TV.

I’d been proposed this site via the relative. I am not positive no matter if this kind of upload is usually published by way of him or her because who else recognize this sort of distinct in relation to my own trouble rock music. You might be wonderful! Many thanks!
