The Yawpers Unleash Gritty Rock at Denver’s Bluebird Theater

The Yawpers have been around so long, so it’s crazy to think their show last month at the Bluebird was my first time photographing them. I can’t even count the times I have seen them live; it’s been many. And they are so good.

Lead singer Nate Cook is all over the stage while drummer (and friend) Noah Shomberg pounds the drums. Jesse Parmet rounds out the trio with his slide guitar. I am continually amazed how bands with small-ish numbers can completely fill a room with sound, but The Yawpers are great live. Full on American rock and roll, although their bio is more eloquent and effusive than that.

The band is playing on New Year’s Eve at The Oriental with Other Black. That will be an incredible way to ring in 2017!
