The Big Moon + Marika Hackman at Lost Lake Denver

What is not to love about a bunch of ladies who jump out on stage wearing “Kum ‘N Go” t-shirts? English band The Big Moon did just that in Denver recently declaring they couldn’t believe we get away with such a store here (I can’t either, honestly) and they had to dress accordingly. Their album Love In The 4th Dimension has been in my sidebar recommendations all year and I was thrilled when they asked me in to photograph their Lost Lake concert.

The Big Moon also serves as the backing band for Marika Hackman and the interplay between these talented ladies was a real treat – both musically and personally. They are all on tour in the UK for the rest of the fall, but I look forward to their American return as soon as possible. The Big Moon is also up for a Mercury Prize this week … we’re crossing our fingers for you!
