Grandoozy Denver: Photos from Day Two

So, here we are: Day Two of Grandoozy. Let’s talk about how the festival went down. Truly, it lived up to my expectations which were frankly pretty high. I attended Superfly’s Lost Lake in Phoenix, and I have often said that was one of the best-organized festivals I’ve ever attended. I feel like Grandoozy ran right up to that bar and smashed through it.

The space was organized well, and although some people thought the stages were spread out a bit too much, I liked that there was room to breathe – it didn’t feel so packed in. I love that we had local food choices and not just standard festival fare. In fact, I probably ate more Snooze during Grandoozy weekend than I ever have (and didn’t have to wait and hour for a table).

Speaking of not waiting, having Apple Pay made everything so much easier. And on top of that, you were able to order drinks from within the Grandoozy app … have them waiting for you. Think about that. You walk up to a general admission bar and have drinks handed to you. I pretty much never waited for a beer all weekend long.

And if we are going to get really specific about what was awesome? The porta-potties. No joke. They were not your typical kind, they were clean, and they actually flushed. Again, in general admission. It made the entire weekend so much more pleasant.

Perhaps my only complaint was how long it took to get a ride home in the evenings. I know there were a lot of concessions made to the neighborhood regarding traffic, so I trust that Grandoozy will work to make this better next year. And frankly, I lay a lot of the blame on the rideshare partner Uber for not having employees out there helping direct traffic and getting people into their cars quicker, as Lyft did at the Lost Lake festival.

And, of course, the music was great. Day Two included bands like locals Gasoline Lollipops, Wilderado, The Soul Rebels, Poolside, Snow Tha Product, Sturgill Simpson, Young the Giant and headliner Florence and The Machine. I’d seen Young the Giant before so I knew what an explosive show they put on, but I was not prepared for Florence. In a word, that woman is a goddess. An actual goddess.

Check out my photos below or photos from day one, and I will have day three up soon.
