The Nathaniel Rateliff show at Red Rocks this year almost didn’t happen. NRNS’s band leader was so sick that week, he had to cancel a show in Aspen, per doctor’s orders. But how can a local crew pass up a two-night stint at Colorado’s most famous venue? I am pretty sure Nathaniel would have been on stage with an IV hanging off him if he had to. The truth is, I am not sure the crowd would have noticed if Mr. Rateliff himself hadn’t announced how sick he was. I have seen many Night Sweats shows, and night two at Red Rocks was on target. A loud, raucous, fun evening with a bunch of talented musicians and a gregarious guy at the helm.
As we head into the winter, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats have two more intimate shows at the Ogden in December (both sold out in like three seconds, sorry). They just appeared on Seth Myers earlier this week. But perhaps most importantly, they will be at “Not One More” here in Denver next weekend, two days of workshops and performances to support gun violence prevention. Tickets *are* still available for that, so hop to it. ❤️
