Gnash and Mallrat at Bluebird Theater

I love seeing bands on their first tour through Denver, especially when they have already made an impression on the fans. Both Gnash (the G is silent) and Mallrat had the crowd singing along with them and were seemingly surprised by it.

Opener Mallrat has an incredible voice and is exploring that through her songs. She is young and a bit shy – so I can’t wait for her to gain her footing as she matures. While she is in that process, she is very endearing and real. Check out her lovely EP In The Sky to see what I mean.

While still young, Gnash clearly has more experience on stage and loves to have fun with it. It was pretty much impossible not to get caught up in his positivity. The stage setup made it seem like we were in a much smaller venue than Denver’s Bluebird – but it won’t be long before Gnash is playing much bigger places.
