The band Walk Off The Earth is well-known for the stage presence, so a show at Denver’s famed Red Rocks was definitely going to be over the top. They started with a video that made it seem like the band was just arriving from the previous tour stop, and as they ran in the video feed switched over to band members at the top of the stairs. Walk Off The Earth is also well known for playing many different instruments, and they sure did that too, all night long.
The band lost a member last year, Mike “Beard Guy” Taylor, so there was a lovely memorial to him in the place he used to stand. There were also a plethora of beard shirts in the crowd, showing how much love the fans had for Mike.
It’s also no surprise how pumped openers Matt + Kim got the crowd. Those two have more energy in their little toes than I probably can output in any given month. Since this was an all-ages show, they toned down their generally, um, gritty performances – but still kept the pace and fun at a maximum level.
WOTE continue their tour here in the US, in Canada and in Europe throughout 2019.
