Cold War Kids - Denver Concert Photos

Cold War Kids at Ogden Theatre

Last week was my fourth time seeing Cold War Kids live in concert, and they never disappoint. The show at Denver’s Ogden Theatre, however, was the first time for me where they were the headliner, not part of another show or festival. Watching them command their own show was thrilling, but I must admit – Cold War Kids is the kind of band that I can imagine handles a huge stage just as effortlessly as they would a dive-bar. (Hint hint, that would be a blast, guys.)

The show started with lead singer Nathan Willett singing quietly at the piano, then everyone jumped out for song two, “Love Is Mystical” – which happens to be one of my very faves. I also love how Cold War Kids bassist Matt Maust prowls the stage and thrusts his instrument out into the crowd – so much so, there were times where I felt like I was doing a backbend while photographing.

There wasn’t much chatter from the band, just lots of great rock ‘n roll … Works for me!

These guys are out touring through February in support of New Age Norms 1, which is the first part of their seventh studio album broken into a trilogy. Catch ’em if you can!
