What’s nice about being a music and travel blogger is all the fun mail I get! I’m serious! Every week, I get hundreds of tidbits about music news, new releases, videos, shows (well, I used to) and since I don’t really feel qualified to be a music critic, I never have anyplace to talk about them.
Thus, I’m starting a series of monthly (or more!) roundups from the news that is sent to me or I find on the web. I hope you enjoy!

Denver Band Lola Rising Releases New EP
is an Island Reggae band, also known as “Jahawaiian,” a ukulele driven 6-piece with high energy dance rhythms, horns, and soaring guitars. Reminiscent of Dirty Heads, Iration and The Green, Lola Rising has been winning hearts and minds since their inception in 2014. Moving Forward
is a 6 track album recorded at The Blasting Room Studios (Fort Collins, CO) with producer and engineer, Chris Beeble. The record will be self-released by Lola Rising and is the 2nd studio album from the Denver outfit.
Jesper Jenset Releases Three Double Singles for 2020
At only 22, Jesper Jenset has been a music sensation since he was a teenager in his native Norway and Europe and now he’s making waves in the U.S. and abroad. Pop-Soul Artist, Zach Maxwell, Releases EP Kill the Kingdom
Denver-based electro-pop-soul artist Zach Maxwell’s latest EP Kill the Kingdom
is a rallying cry against the patriarchy and the systemic corruption of our society. Maxwell’s four-track body of work delivers pop music with a call to action. Produced, written, and recorded by Maxwell himself, “Kill the Kingdom” is anchored around global dance grooves, big 808’s, and neo-soul chords.

Float Like a Buffalo Keeps the Spirit of Live Music Going
Over the coming months, Denver funk rock band Float Like a Buffalo will be performing live shows from yards and driveways across Colorado, inviting neighbors to enjoy the concert from the safety of their own driveways and yards. To deter gathering, exact show locations will not be disclosed, but anyone not in the neighborhood may join the fun via the show live stream on Float Like a Buffalo’s Facebook page.
