I feel super lucky this year; I was able to see the band Spoon twice. First, at Shaky Knees in Atlanta and then at our Mission Ballroom in Denver. Both times Spoon was excellent (so much so that I fan-girled and bought a shirt). Seeing as Denver was the first stop on their 2022 tour, I feel like I spent a bunch of time with the band this Spring. (No complaints.)
Spoon just released their first album in five years, Lucifer on The Sofa, and it’s quickly becoming one of my faves. Given it’s their 10th album, there is a lot of material to cover in a concert, which Spoon did admirably – providing a nice mix of their standards and new cuts from Lucifer.
The band are all terrific musicians, and then add on Britt Daniel’s sensitive and raw style of singing – you are set up for a great night of rock music. Spoon continues their tour through the fall, so be sure to catch them if you can!
