Lawrence & Misterwives at Denver’s Mission Ballroom

There is not much I like better than a co-headlining show with two superb bands on the bill. Such was the case when Lawrence and Misterwives hit Denver’s Mission Ballroom recently. The “Sounds Of Summer” tour was a celebration of fun and upbeat tunes.

Lawrence is lead by siblings Clyde and Gracie, who created the band, an eight-piece soul-pop band comprised of musician friends from childhood and college. The camaraderie shows on stage, as you can see in the photos below. It’s high energy and big smiles. Their sophomore album, Hotel TV, was released last year on Jon Bellion’s new Beautiful Mind Records – they were the first band to do so. Lawrence also has some fun shows this fall, including the inaugural Ocean’s Calling Festival in my home state of Maryland.

And what can one say about Misterwives? This was the third time I have photographed them, and I know I have seen them a few more times than that. Mandy Lee is always a joy, with the voice of an angel. They have released a few new songs in 2022, including a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.” They always make my playlists and my recs for shows to see.
