5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) - Denver Concert Photos

5 Seconds of Summer & Pale Waves at Fillmore Denver

I say it all the time, but one of the big perks of being a blogger is seeing bands you might not normally go to. 5 Seconds of Summer is one of them, and boy, they surprised me. I definitely like their music – I especially love their song “Youngblood,” – but I wasn’t expecting the hilarious senses of humor mixed with an honest to god rock show.

Of course all of Fillmore erupted when they came on stage, given the pandemic delays for this concert. Fans were damn ready to hear their favorite band and 5SOS delivered. Sometimes you could not even hear the band over the crowd singing along.

Opener Pale Waves started after some serious technical delays but once they got going, gave a great performance themselves. Pale Waves returns to Denver on September 28 for a headline show at the Marquis.

As for 5 Seconds of Summer, they head home to their native Australia this fall, but let’s hope it doesn’t take the same several of years to get back here to see us again.
