If you had told me in high school that I would be one day photographing this line-up, I never would have believed you. I remember how Def Leppard’s Pyromania came out in middle school, and we were all huddled around, admiring the vinyl. And while yes, in high school, I was more of a Depeche Mode kind of gal, who can’t love the insanity that is Mötley Crüe??
Poison started the sold-out show at Coors Field, and as seen in the photos below, they were damn glad to be there. In fact, all the bands had been battling issues to make the show, not to mention the two-year pandemic delay. But each set was fun, loud, and exactly what you want in a rock show.
Personally, I enjoyed Def Leppard the most, but again, of the three, I have loved them the longest. I did have to pinch myself that I was actually watching *the* Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe bang it out on the drums – and he had Taylor Hawkins’ photo on his kit to boot.
The production value of the concert was mind-boggling, and while I feel lucky that we were able to photograph from up front, I can’t imagine there was a bad seat in the entire stadium. Plus, it was a true joy to share the the night with other photographer friends, who I know are also fans.
The Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison & Joan Jett stadium tour continues into September, so be sure to catch them while you can!
