Canopy Ziplining in Arenal, Costa Rica (video)

When we decided to visit the Guanacaste rainforest region of Costa Rica, pretty much the only thing I wanted to do was zipline. My best friend Danielle has been several times before and she speaks of the region with such reverence; I knew I needed…

Mamón Chino (Costa Rican Rambutan)

One of the great things about travel is finding things you have never seen before, much less tasted. To be fair, we had a wonderful guide in Costa Rica by way of ex-pat Andrea Fellman and she basically ran off the road when she saw…
Waterfall Costa Rica Hot Springs

Costa Rica Waterfall (Animated GIF)

Getting back into the swing of things after being in Costa Rica for 10 days is hard. Overwhelming. Which is why I took some time this afternoon to browse through my thousands of photos from our visit to Tabacon Hot Springs and in a huge effort to relieve the experience, I created an animated GIF of my friends getting pummeled by a waterfall of volcano water. Left to right are Kim Tracy Prince, Andrea Fellman and Romy Schorr. Good sports all three, and great travel buddies.

#ROAR14 In Costa Rica

Note: Several parts of my Roar Retreat conference have been sponsored, or arranged by the conference's organizers. All words are mine.
I have wanted to visit Costa Rica forever. My best friend Danielle has been many times; her stories and photos just BLOW MY MIND. When friend, client and colleague Andrea Fellman moved there about a year ago, I knew at some point I would figure out a way to visit her. Luckily she and Nadia Carriere made it simple for me when they created Roar Retreat. I was thrilled to do the design and web work for the project, and of course, attend. The time has flown since we started working on all this nearly a year ago -  I leave for Costa Rica tomorrow.

ROAR Retreat in Costa Rica #ROAR14

Ever since I went out on my own with Giese Media, I have had exceptional luck with clients. Even better, exceptional luck with clients coming back. After we launched the new Savvy Sassy Moms and Child Mode sites, their (separate) founders came back to me with a (collaborative) idea. ROAR Retreat will be a social media conference held this fall in Costa Rica, where Andrea of SSM has relocated with her family. The idea revolves around bringing bloggers together to share ideas, to get empowered and to build community.

Happy Birthday, America.

I sat down at my computer a little while ago to write a 4th of July post. I had planned to write about Oh The Joy's recent George Costanza dreams, and joke about how unpatriotic I am because Bryan and I are pretty much the…

Virtually Escape with Zoom Backgrounds

I have been working remotely for nine years now. But I almost always have clients enter the meeting with video off under the guise (and truth!) that I am just going to share my screen. Since we have been in quarantine, clicking that link to…
