Best Denver Concert Photos 2022

2022 was the year that roared back – at least in terms of concerts. We maintain a concert calendar for the Denver area, and last year it was packed wall to wall with shows. Zero complaints – and lots of late nights! This made 2022…

Best Denver Concert Photos 2018

It's been another great year for me photographing concerts here in Denver. Selecting photos for this post is always a joy, but so difficult. There were a plethora of fantastic shows in 2018, but I have to say it definitely was the year for me…
X-Ambassadors Concert Photos from Red Rocks Denver 2018

X Ambassadors and MisterWives at Red Rocks

I have seen (and photographed) both X Ambassadors and MisterWives on separate occasions before, but these bands were made to play at Red Rocks. Sometimes it's hard to captivate 70 rows of seats soaring up between giant monoliths in the sky, but these guys had…
X Ambassadors in Concert - Denver, CO

X Ambassadors Concert Photos from Denver’s Ogden

Sometimes I feel guilty while photographing a band as one member dominates the camera. Such was the case with X Ambassadors recently, when Sam Harris was all over the stage and I had a hard time blast keeping up with him. The rest of the band was great to be sure, but all eyes were on the lead singer. Opener Seinabo Sey was a bit of an odd choice in my opinion, but I am not complaining. This lady's voice is impeccable and she was personable and compelling as she stood close to the microphone and just sang her heart out. Speaking of beautiful music, X Ambassadors' hit song "Unsteady" was just released as an orchestral remix for the movie Me Before You. Be sure to check that out.

AMZY, Phases and Medic at Larimer Lounge

"I bet you think you're here to see X Ambassadors, right?" That was Sean from AMZY as I walked into Larimer Lounge a few weeks ago, ready to photograph, yes, X Ambassadors. Seems that band, as well as the previous first opening band had to cancel at the last minute and there was a major shuffle in the lineup. Fellow Denver band Medic was brought in and now AMZY would be headlining. Phases (you'll recognize their song "I'm In Love With My Life") continued on with their set, although their night was a little less frenetic as planned - the show had been way sold out. The good news is the place stayed about half full, and more importantly - everything now took on a "secret show" air. There was a certain sense of camaraderie between the bands and the crowd, and I have so say - it was one of the best AMZY shows I have ever seen. The guys even pulled off a cover of X Ambassadors big song "Renegades" with about 10 minutes of practice. Well done, y'all.
