Solstice Crazies

At my therapy session yesterday, I was telling her that even through the Lunesta, I had been having night terrors lately… but that January has always been a bad month for my night terrors. She said that we are all very tuned into changes of light and dark… and that people who have sleep disorders and also people who are bipolar usually have a little wonky time when the reversal of light happens during the winter and summer solstice. I said, well, isn’t the light constantly changing? And she said, it’s the *reversal* from days getting shorter to days getting longer and vice versa that throw people off. I thought that was pretty damn interesting.
