Illegal Pete’s 20th Anniversary Concert

Last month, Colorado-based Illegal Pete's restaurants celebrated their 20th anniversary by throwing a big party at Red Rocks. The company closed all their locations and invited employees up to enjoy some of founder Pete Turner's favorite bands. This all makes sense, because Illegal Pete's is not just a burrito company - they care about people, music and fun. Their record label, the Greater Than Collective, supports many Colorado bands and comedians - so you can imagine how full Red Rocks was that night (in addition to Illegal Pete's staff) to celebrate 20 years of awesome. Eighteen Years

We met at a concert and it's almost an age test to see who remembers the bands who played: The Mighty Lemondrops and Material Issue. I get very reminiscent with I hear "Inside Out" and "Valerie Loves Me." When we tell the story, each of us leave out details we don't like, but the main point is this: it was a condemned bar and Bryan was moving back to Baltimore the very next day. The company I worked for was hiring and I gave him my number under that pretense. But we both knew there was something there, even then.
