Missing His Friend

Lily is visiting her grandmother in the mid-west somewhere this week (sorry, not sure exactly where – the mid-west is all one big lump to me). And Declan sure has been missing her. He drew this balloon for her today – but was very clear that the face inside the balloon is Lily’s happy face (to see him again, presumably) and not the balloon’s actual face. Got it.

Obviously he was also missing his friend the Snaggle-Toothed & Round-Headed Pirate, because this was his next drawing:
