Announcing the 3rd Annual Colorado Sound Music Awards

The Colorado Sound (KJAC) is thrilled to announce that voting is now open for the 3rd annual Colorado Sound Music Awards! Winners will be announced live during an in-person ceremony, taking place Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colorado. The Colorado Sound Music Awards celebrates Colorado music and our incredible community of fans, supporters, and artists across numerous genres.

Artists performing live during the Sept. 18 event include Colorado ‘cumbiadelica’ band Ritmo Cascabel, 2023 Colorado Sound Music Award winner Alysia Kraft, and Todd Park Mohr of Big Head Todd and the Monsters, who will perform a special acoustic performance. Tickets are on sale starting Friday, June 14.

“Last year’s Colorado Sound Music Awards were amazing, and this year we’re making them bigger and better,” says Margot Chobanian, Program Director of The Colorado Sound. “It’s a great night to celebrate the breadth and diversity of talent of Colorado musicians with artists and music lovers together in one place, and it will be even more special with Todd Park Mohr’s solo acoustic performance.”

Each year The Colorado Sound nominates five currently active artists, individuals, and organizations in four unique categories, and listeners vote for the winners. The categories are:

· On the Rise
· Colorado Spirit
· Outstanding Stage Presence
· Outstanding ‘Secret Ingredient’

There’s also a fifth write-in category dubbed the Colorado Artist You’d Drive 105.5 Miles to See. Profiles of each nominee can be found on the Colorado Sound website.

Voting is open now and runs through Friday, Aug. 16. Music fans from across Colorado or anywhere in the world can vote now.

More information, including profiles on all the 2023 Colorado Sound Music Awards nominees and descriptions of each of the five categories, is available on the station website.
