Groovy Homework

I am loving the homework Declan has been getting. Lots of exploratory stuff like – “walk around the house and draw pictures of all the textures you find.”

But this week, it was: “Talk about recycling and draw pictures of all the things your family recycles.” Goes along very nicely with Mayberry’s suggestion for Jeff’s Blog Action Day list, wouldn’t you say?

Don’t you love how he stuck a Halloween surprise message in there for his teacher? Boo!

Speaking of Halloween, our “Family Project” for this month was to make a mask for today’s Mask Parade. And I am going to admit something really embarrassing. Even more embarrassing than taking crazy meds.

We ran out of time and made the mask this morning before school. Yes, we’re loser parents and setting a bad example by putting off homework till the last minute…

But still came out bitchin’, huh? In a freaky Michael-Myers-from-Halloween kind of way.

I KNEW SOMEONE WOULD COMMENT ON THAT!!!!!!!!!

I would like to publicly declare that we SOMETIMES get the Caprisun WATERs and Declan may have ONE per day.

    :)))

I tend to be a loser parent full of guilt. I can’t seem to get a handle on it.

Both are awesome … I love how he drew the recycling symbol on his picture too!

Great mask! I always do stupid things like that last minute. Good god, it feels like I am the one in school some days.

Uh, we call that doing our best work under pressure – channeling the adrenaline!

    “our best work under pressure”

I am taking that and running with it.

And Mayberry, isn’t that funny? Only a child of two graphic designers would think to put that on there.

Oh, and how is it Saturday in Denver already? I thought it was only two hours!

Wonderful mask! Any Halloween junkie would be so proud of such a creative last minute project… except for my kid, who’s terrified of anyone in a mask. Oh, halloween is going to be lovely this year!
