My Morning Jacket Show at Denver's Red Rocks - Concert Photos & Review

My Morning Jacket at Denver’s Red Rocks

My Morning Jacket has built a reputation as one of the most dynamic live bands in American rock, and their recent concert at Red Rocks proved exactly why. Formed in Louisville, Kentucky in the late 90s, the band has spent decades perfecting their blend of reverb-soaked rock, soul, and psychedelic experimentation.

Frontman Jim James remains a magnetic force on stage – hair wild and voice echoing with that signature warmth that can fill any venue. The band’s early albums like Z and It Still Moves helped carve their place in indie rock history, but it’s the live show that turned them into legends. For their two nights under the monoliths, they performed Z in its entirety on Friday and a mix of favorites (with no repeats!) on Saturday.

Throughout the night, the band moved between delicate quiet moments and explosive crescendos with ease. There’s a looseness to their performance that feels both intentional and organic, like you’re watching a band completely lost in the joy of making music together. As always, the audience left feeling like they’d witnessed something uniquely human – equal parts rock show, revival, and dream. My Morning Jacket don’t just perform; they remind you why live music matters.
