Recovery
Slow. My ear surgery recovery is damn slow.
But in general, I feel better than I thought I would. Of course, I have massive doses of vicodin coursing through my body right now, so I’m thinking anything would feel ok right now.
Thanks so much for your messages, tweets and emails of encouragement. I am super hopeful this will work.
For those who have asked, it was a pretty intensive surgery, where, yes, he removed my ear to get to my eardrum from behind. I have a huge scar running the whole length of my ear, which is healing really well.
That part I am actually kind of sad about. If you are gonna have a big wicked scar, the back of your ear is a pretty cool place to have one, right? Battle wounds from the last year, right? Big old Star Trek Ferengi ears to prove I am bad-ass, RIGHT?
But no. Apparently my doctor is so top-notch I probably will have NO scar at all.
Let’s just hope “no scar” equals “lots and lots of hearing.”
Mouth. Hanging. Open.
He removed your ear. Whoa. That is much more major than I had imagined.
Here’s hoping for a full and uneventful recovery my friend. Continuing to wish you well.
Yowza. Whew. Thinking of you! Heal well, and hear well. 🙂
Really, really hoping everything heals up for you the way you are expecting. Take it slow—enjoy the relief the pain medication can bring and rest, rest, rest! 🙂 All the best for your cosmetic recovery, too.
That is crazy girl! Hope you feel better soon! – m
I concur… wow… let’s talk soon 😉 xoxo
i just … wow. i didn’t know he was going to have to take your ear off. wow. hoping for a quick recovery, a!
Wow.
My kid has a scar on the back of her head, which sometimes shows if her hair falls just so. I tell her if people tease her, tell them you got it in a bar fight.
Heal well.
Crazy. Thinking of you and hope you are feeling better soon!
Thank you all so much!
