Shaky Knees Festival 2025: Day 3 Review + Massive Photo Gallery
The final day at Shaky Knees always feels like a slow sunrise that turns into a sprint – mellow at first, and suddenly you’re soaking up every last moment with the whole crowd. Piedmont Park on Sunday was the usual collage of sun hats, merch tents, brand activations, art installations, and food trucks lined up like a world tour of festival eats. You could snack your way from spicy tacos to loaded fries, grab a cold drink from one of the pop-up patios, and even sample gear from some of the boutique brands showing off their coolest festival-ready stuff.
Walking around before the first set, you’d catch folks playing frisbee on the lawn, and chill zones with shade and lounges that were pure social HQ. It all set a vibe that felt equal parts community picnic and big-time festival, which was exactly the energy we all wanted going into day three.
P.S. Here are the recaps from Day One, Day Two, and past Shaky Knees coverage!
Shaky Knees Bands I Covered on Sunday
Stereophonics
Stereophonics is one of my all-time favorite bands and their presence on the lineup was one of the reasons I decided to come back to Atlanta! This Welsh band formed in 1992 and rarely come to America. But they walked on stage like they’d been playing Shaky Knees for years even though it was their first time. Weathered guitars, punchy rhythms, and those familiar vocals pulled a crowd that swayed into the afternoon with a grin. I got to sing along with some of my favorite songs with a huge grin on my face.
The Stews
The Stews brought a playful burst of indie energy next. Their set felt like a perfectly curated playlist you’d make for a long drive with friends – sing-along hooks and sunny grooves. Between laughs and crowd banter, it was one of those mid-afternoon performances that just fit the vibes of a festival Sunday.
DEVO
DEVO hit the stage like the pioneers they are. Seeing them at Shaky Knees was a reminder of how much of today’s new wave, indie, and art-rock DNA traces back to them. Decades in, they haven’t softened their edges. If anything, the satire and commentary land even harder now. It was equal parts history lesson and dance party, and the crowd knew they were watching architects of an era still doing it on their own terms.
Weird Al Yankovic
Then Weird Al hit the stage and the whole park lit up. It was joyful chaos in the best way – full of humor, spot-on parody vocals, accordion solos, and fans singing every word – including watching Weird Al cover DEVO right after DEVO played! What honestly shocked me? How damn GOOD the set was. Sure, you had to wait for costume changes, but it was worth it.
Alabama Shakes
Alabama Shakes brought the emotion back in a real way. Their deep, rich sound washed over Piedmont Park with a soulful pull that demanded attention. Between Brittany Howard’s vocals and the band’s tight live feel, this was the kind of performance that had people settling in close and letting the music soak in. It was one of the standout moments of the day.
Vampire Weekend
Vampire Weekend brought breezy indie rock that fit the late afternoon perfectly. Bright melodies, quick rhythms, and that unmistakable band energy got folks moving again after the soulful pause. Their set felt familiar but just fresh enough to be fun. Like rediscovering your favorite song at just the right moment.
Blink-182
Blink-182 closed the whole festival with big, loud, sing-along energy. We photographers were places miles away and it showed in my photos but I honestly don’t care. The crowd was fully locked in, voices loud enough to compete with the amps, and I was screaming along just as loud. Fast riffs, playful stage bits, and all the hits that made them staple festival closers turned Piedmont Park into one last big party. It was a finale that felt like a collective exhale — fun, loud, and unapologetically celebratory.
Shaky Knees Wrapup
By the time the final lights dimmed and the last crowd drifted toward the exits, Shaky Knees 2025 felt like a full-circle weekend. Three days of bouncing between stages, weaving through brand booths and murals, debating food truck lines, finding pockets of shade, and running into friends you only ever see at festivals. It’s never just about the headliners – it’s the random mid-day set you didn’t expect to love, the late-night sing-along you’ll lose your voice over, and the small moments in between.
From the first chords on Friday to Blink-182’s final blast on Sunday, this year had range — gritty rock, quirky fun, soulful power, indie brightness, and full-tilt nostalgia. Shaky Knees continues to balance big names with left-field surprises, and that mix is what keeps it feeling fresh.
And now we pack up the sunscreen, sort through thousands of photos, and start counting down until next year.
