TA Barron Web Site

T. A. Barron Web Site – Fantastic Project for Young Adult SciFi Author

You know how I have been crazed at work lately? I am buried with amazing work from amazing clients, and I tell you… I count my lucky stars every day.

Most of the summer, I have been helping Stephanie Schwab and her crew at Crackerjack Marketing redesign the website of T. A. Barron, a renowned author who happens to live up the road from me in Boulder.

The site was a huge undertaking, as it had not been previously changed since 2008. There was so much great content – so how do we rearrange it in a more modern way, show off Barron’s many fantastic books, and still provide an easy way for his different types of visitors to access the site?

We decided to separate content for readers, for writers (who Barron often mentors), for educators (because his books are often used in schools) and for nature lovers (because Barron writes about nature and cares about the environment deeply).

I was able to spend the day with Mr. Barron during a video shoot over the summer, and I can attest: he is as nice as he seems in his videos. I am so pleased to have yet another client I can call a friend.

Part of the reason he decided to re-launch his web site was for his new book, Atlantis Rising – which is about how Atlantis was built rather than destroyed. I love how his books always put a different spin on things; his 12-part Merlin series is about the young man rather than the white-bearded wizard we all know so well.

T. A. Barron has just launched a book tour to support Atlantis Rising, and I am heartbroken that we will be on vacation in Mexico during the two Colorado stops. (OK, maybe not that heartbroken. We will raise a cerveza in your honor, Tom!)

In the meantime, check out the site and let me know what you think! We are still working out some minor kinks (including the mobile site), but I am really proud of it. Thanks again to the team for letting me be part of it!

Looks great – and I like the divisions “for readers”, “for writers”, etc. I know you said you were working out some bugs, but if it helps with that process … when I resize on my pc or use my android phone, the buttons on those pages are off the visible page (aligned way far right)and the images, text and video pieces overlap.
