The Aquabats and PPL MVR at Gothic Theatre
I was super lucky to interview MC Bat Commander from The Aquabats earlier this year and photograph them the last time Riot Fest was in Denver – so I knew their show at the Gothic Theatre was going to be, well, a riot. The place was filled with kids – but in the best way. All these little guys and gals running around dressed up like the Aquabats, or their favorite superhero, or my fave – ones they just made up themselves.
And opener PPL MVR (pronounced “people mover”) – what can one say? No one knows who these guys are, other than they are … yetis? I really don’t know. They say they are “ancient, original species who come to worship, and be worshiped.” That works for me because they are really great musicians and hilarious … plus only scared a few of those little kiddos I mentioned before.
Hopefully both will be back to Denver in 2020, but be sure to check out The Aquabats Super Show until they make it around on tour again!
