What Holiday Card Should I Get?

I have to be honest. I go a little crazy about our annual holiday card every year. So when Clever Girls invited me to join a promotion to check out Shutterfly’s latest holiday photo cards I was pretty jazzed.

I almost always have my cards done, and in hand, by Thanksgiving weekend (psst, they have Thanksgiving cards too!) – so I can spend the long holiday addressing them.

Yes, I am THAT crazy.

I decided to use the promotion as a way to get a jump start on my cards and have YOU help ME in what also always turns into a a headache of epic proportions: deciding on the design.

As a graphic designer, I have to say – I used to be so disappointed in the selections online. It just seemed like a massive spray of clip art on a sea of red and green – basically, blech. But in the past few years, the look has much improved. Less clip art, more stylish fonts, and so easy to plop recent photos of my impish 8 year old into.

Here are the ones we all liked best.

Yeah, um, clearly I am digging brown for this year.

Now. You choose.

When I click to go to Shutterfly it says page not found. Hmmm. What’s up with that?

I like the ones where you and B are also pictured. I voted!

  2. Aimee Greeblemonkey

Weird, I just checked all 4 and the links worked for me!

    What browser are you using?

    Anyone else having a problem?

  3. Aimee Greeblemonkey

Oh! I see the problem, fixed! Thanks!

Love the first one best, and voted. Thanks for passing on the offer — we always use Shutterfly for cards, so crossing fingers that my little blog is big enough to qualify!

I voted for the one with the most pictures of everyone – I love getting family pictures as Christmas cards.
I’ll definitely be checking out the 50 free cards, thanks for the tip.

I picked the berry one, because all three of you are on it and showcased equally. People do actually want to see you ya know, and that’s a great picture of you and Bryan.

I voted for the Berries for a weird reason – all of them are really nice, except the cross eyed picture hurts my eyes LOL!

I will certainly check the website out!

Aimee, I too make sure my cards are ordered and IN HAND by Thanksgiving weekend so I can address them, smack a stamp on them, and start getting them out the door the first week of December. Yes, I’m nuts like that, but when you send over 100 cards each year, you gotta start early.

Also, I’ve used Shutterfly the past 4 years and have really enjoyed the increasingly better card selections. I hope this year will be even better, especially since Dexy’s dad is now living here in Seattle and I get to include him on our holiday card. You’ve given me some great stuff to work with mama.

Cheers and thanks for the poke, errr I mean reminder that I need to start gathering my holiday card images NOW.

Wow – they are all great! I can’t decide so I am vetoing voting! LOL.

I definitely think you and hubby should also be on the card!
    (I agree with Meghann)

I like all of the designs, but if I were choosing one I’d like to get, it would be Holiday Berries because it has photos of the whole family.

When I had kids in school, I’d tuck copies of their school pictures in the Christmas cards. Since then it’s been haphazard. I’ve looked into doing photo cards before, but have usually balked due to the expense. But getting free ones? Definitely worth a try! 😉

I really like the last snow flurries one. Love Christmas!
