Advent Wreath

We always had an Advent Wreath growing up. I used to get so excited about lighting those candles and counting down the weeks till Christmas.

I had one that I got from my mom (which was my Oma’s) that just finally turned into saw dust at some point. I looked and looked for a similar one – which was ornate wood with carved figures… but they were impossible to find and/or outrageously expensive. So I made one in pottery class last year.

As you all know, I am not religious, but the excitement and ceremony of the Advent Wreath is something I want to pass along to Declan.

Besides, it makes me think of my Oma.
