Saints Of Valory

Saints of Valory and One Flew West

I love it when bands I love have local bands I love open for them. Such was the case when Saints of Valory returned to Denver at the Gothic Theater with One Flew West. If you are from around here, you have heard the Saints…
Dan Aid - Denver Music

Interview with Dan Aid: New Album, New Direction

If you have been around the Denver music scene for any length of time, you have probably seen one of Dan Aid's bands. I have photographed his most recent group, Wiredogs, on many occasions and was excited to hear his solo EP, The Quiet Place. It's different from his…

Illegal Pete’s 20th Anniversary Concert

Last month, Colorado-based Illegal Pete's restaurants celebrated their 20th anniversary by throwing a big party at Red Rocks. The company closed all their locations and invited employees up to enjoy some of founder Pete Turner's favorite bands. This all makes sense, because Illegal Pete's is not just a burrito company - they care about people, music and fun. Their record label, the Greater Than Collective, supports many Colorado bands and comedians - so you can imagine how full Red Rocks was that night (in addition to Illegal Pete's staff) to celebrate 20 years of awesome. Win 1 of 3 Polar Express 30th Anniversary Books!

I know it's a little early to think about Christmas, but it's a great time to win a giveaway to get Christmas presents to give away! Making me feel super old, this year is the 30th anniversary of the book Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. I knew of this author well before the movies, because my illustration teacher in college was a deep admirer. Which, if you do the math, puts us right in the era of Polar Express and Jumanji. The 30th anniversary edition of The Polar Express reveals a new jacket design and expanded interior layout, includes a letter from Van Allsburg, downloadable audio read by Liam Neeson, plus a golden keepsake ornament.

I have three of these to giveaway, so enter via the Rafflecopter below!

Machu Picchu Peru - Middle School Trip

Middle School Trip to Machu Picchu, Peru

Two years ago, Dex's Spanish teacher presented a plan to take all her kids on a dream trip to Peru. This was someplace I had never thought we could go, but we worked to save the money and luckily the school worked with Educational Tours,…
