Bishop Briggs at Summit Denver
If you’ve ever felt your soul shake from a bass drop and a powerhouse vocal in the same song, that is what it’s like at a Bishop Briggs concert. Born Sarah Grace McLaughlin in London and raised across the globe, Bishop Briggs brings an international flavor to her emotionally raw, alt-pop sound. She first broke into the scene in 2016 with her haunting hit “River,” which quickly surged up the charts and onto countless playlists.
I was able to interview her a few weeks ago, and also photograph her recent show at Summit Music Hall here in Denver. Live in concert, Bishop Briggs is an absolute firestorm – her shows are sweaty, cathartic sing-alongs where she belts her heart out and dances like nobody’s watching (but everyone is, and they love it). This firecracker pounds around the stage and gets the whole crowd going with both her fierce intensity and plucky charm. This time around, she also had her husband and baby on the sidelines to cheer her on.
If you haven’t seen her live yet, do yourself a favor and grab a ticket next time she is on tour – you’ll leave with your heart full and your voice hoarse.
