Totally Tubular 80s New Wave Music Festival Denver

Earlier this summer, Fiddler’s Green Denver hosted some of the 80s New Wave greats for the Totally Tubular Music Festival. The line up was incredible: Bow Wow Wow, The Tubes, Men Without Hats, Modern English, Thompson Twins (Tom Bailey) and Thomas Dolby. It was like a complete day full of bucket list checkoffs – bands I had unbelievably never seen before! I would say only the Tubes even showed a whiff of struggling with our elevation – a common issue with bands visiting the Mile High city. But all the sets were so fun and full of dancing.

I really enjoyed hearing all the stories too, especially when Thomas Dolby talked about going to Live Aid with David Bowie, who apparently hated flying.

The crowd was full of fun costumes and cheer – much like me, ready to hear all their favorites. The Totally Tubular festival has been running for a few years now, and I hope they return to Denver again next year, because that was a total blast!
