Duran Duran Concert in Denver – where OMG I was able to photograph them, like, for reals!
I was really excited to see Duran Duran reaching out to bloggers and inviting them to cover their new “All You Need Is Now” tour. I was really really really excited when I was one of the bloggers they asked to attend.
Can you imagine how I felt when they approved my request for a press pass?
Pretty. Much. This.
I have loved this band since I was 13.
I had, and still have, a huge crush on John Taylor.
I named my dog Rio. As in, she danced on the sand.
AND I WAS GOING TO GET TO PHOTOGRAPH THEM?
YES! YES! YES!
Simon’s voice was amazing. I know he had posted that he had some concerns – but really. His pipes still sound incredibly smooth and sexy.
John still is a rad bass player. A friend recently told me he had discounted JT … until he tried to learn Rio. BOOM!
Nick still adds all that technical coolness from the background.
And where is Roger you might ask? Behind a huge drum kit that was impossible to photograph through.
When you have a press pass, you only shoot the first three songs, so I gave up trying to catch him real quick. But trust me, he sounded great too.
Sure. This is a band that has been around for 3/4 of my life. I know I am skewed.
But the crowd was mixed in terms of age and dedication. Duran Duran puts on a great show, filled with great songs, making it a fun experience for everyone. Old fans, new fans, every fan. I have no idea if that is why they named the new album “All You Need Is Now” – but that is what it says to me.
Many thanks to the boys. For everything.
Great shots! I saw them in L.A. Agree with everything you say – Simon sounds great, John is ridiculously good-looking and a rad bassist and Roger is too hidden. Thanks for sharing, lucky girl 🙂

And thanks for all the kind words!
Amazing experience eh? Did they comp you tickets for the rest of show?
As always, you are so amazingly talented and I know it, but when I see evidence of your talent, I am overwhelmed. Wow, girl. Just wow.
