Goodbye, Randy

My friend Aimee from Chicago called today and told me that her father died on Monday. He had been fighting esophageal cancer for a long time and it was not unexpected, but I still sat and cried for him after I got off the phone with her. This was a man who was always a larger than life figure when I knew him during childhood, and it is hard to imagine him not being around anymore.

The wild thing is, Aimee was actually a friend of my sister’s from about 2nd grade on… but in recent years, we have reconnected and talk often. She also reads this blog when she can… So I wanted to send her some special hugs during this difficult time. We love ya, babe.
