Half-o-ween Halloween Party in April - Denver Bands

Halloween in April: Denver Bands “Stitched” Together for Alf’s Half-O-Ween

My pal Alf always has the most complicated events. It usually takes me a few minutes to explain, but hold on, it’s worth it. See, Alf is a big fan of Halloween and always wondered why should we have to wait for October? Voilà: HALF-O-WEEN 2023! And given his experience as the former Locals Only DJ on KTCL for a few decades, who else could bring bands together in new ways?

Y’all – I mean really new ways. Alf takes members from twelve local groups and creates “Frankenstein bands,” which are stitched together from bands like Reno Divorce, Neon the Bishop, AMZY and Compass & Cavern. Those new bands perform together at a concert which is also now turning into my birthday celebration. (Not to be selfish, but my big day is near the event so I am claiming it as my party too.)

Not only do the bands and Alf dress up, there will be a costume contest. Prizes include passes to the Telluride Horror Show, passes to Terror in the Corn, a curated Halloween record collection plus gift cards from Twist & Shout Records, and passes to Nightly Spirits ghost tours.

There’s more! Party jams and free records from There’s An Ape For That, plus spooky beats from Crumbs the DJ. Join us for a Halloween-ish night out when you don’t have to wear a jacket over your Halloween costume!
