LCD Soundsystem Lights Up Red Rocks
LCD Soundsystem played Denver’s iconic Red Rocks for two nights this summer and pretty much tore the house down. The large ensemble lead by James Murphy may not have moved around the stage very much, but their music sure made the crowd move – a lot. It’s been a decade since this band was here in Denver and we missed them.
The first opening band was a nice teaser for later in the evening: Museum of Love is fronted by LCD Soundsystem drummer Pat Mahoney.
The next band, Savages, is a London-based post-punk crew that first hit the scene about five years ago. I wish I had heard of them before because they were terrific as well.
The show was a few weeks ago and many people I know are still talking about how great (both nights) were.
Welcome back, LCD Soundsystem. We (hopefully) look forward to a new album as well.
