Less Than Jake & Fishbone at Fillmore Denver

Talk about a great concert: Less Than Jake and Fishbone performing together at Denver’s historic Fillmore Auditorium. This show was so completely fun that I stowed my camera away and joined the crowd right away.

Fishbone hit the stage first, like a whirlwind of sound and motion, proving once again why they’re one of the most dynamic live bands in rock history. Born out of Los Angeles in the late 70s, their blend of ska, punk, funk, and soul has always defied labels and expectations. From the first note, the energy was electric, with frontman Angelo Moore bouncing across the stage with unstoppable charisma. Decades into their career, Fishbone still plays with the wild abandon of a band half their age.

Next up, Less Than Jake brought their signature ska-punk energy to the stage with a show that reminded everyone why they’ve been crowd favorites for decades. Formed in Gainesville, Florida, in the early 90s, the band built their reputation on fast-paced songs, brass-heavy hooks, and a relentless touring schedule that made them legends of the Warped Tour era.

Over the years, they’ve perfected the art of mixing humor, chaos, and catchy melodies into one unforgettable live experience. The concert kicked off with fan favorites that had everyone shouting along right away. Between songs, the band’s playful banter and jokes made the crowd feel like part of the show. Their horn section kept the energy high, blending perfectly with the guitar riffs and steady punk rhythms. Even after all these years, their set felt fresh – equal parts nostalgic and fiercely alive.

Crowd surfers came in waves, and confetti cannons burst in time with the beat, giving the night a carnival-like feel. The band’s chemistry was undeniable – you could see that they were having just as much fun as the audience. It was a reminder that Less Than Jake isn’t just about nostalgia – they’re still one of the most entertaining live acts around.

Speaking of Warped Tour, Less Than Jake hits the Orlando 2025 edition in November, and then they are off to stomp across Europe!
