Take that, Bill Gates!

I am thrilled to discover (or more accurately, Bryan discovered it and showed it to me) that there is an open source (i.e. FREE) version of Microsoft Office out there for Macintosh.

NeoOffice.

And guess what! It is not as bloated and slow as the original. Want to write a letter? Viola! Write it and save it without the program thinking it knows what you want to do and trying to do it for you. Need to make a holiday shopping list that simply totals what your budget will be for each person? (um, which is what brought on this post- I am way behind this year!) But you can do it in their version of Excel easy as pie.

And it saves out in the Office file formats so you can still send them to your poor friends who are forced to use Windoze.
