The Black Crowes at Red Rocks

I feel like a broken record because every single post of 2022 has been about seeing bands I have loved for decades, yet somehow never managed to see live. The Black Crowes is on that list and their 2022 show at Red Rocks is among my faves of the year. The Robinson brothers (singer Chris and guitarist Rich) have been the guiding force of the band since they formed way back in 1984. And just like many brother bands, they had their fighting/hiatus times. I guess we have at least one thing to thank Howard Stern for, because he brokered the most recent reunion of the band – and they are back, better than ever.

I was excited to see Chris shake his moneymaker and as you can see by the photos below, he delivered. I got to dance to “Twice as Hard” while photographing, and the band played “Lickin'” from Lions for the first time since 2010. Fans were singing (and dancing) along all night. Music clearly is a balm for the soul after such a hard few years.

The Black Crowes continue this tour in Japan and Australia, but I won’t be missing their next Denver concert – that is for sure!
