Velorama Music Festival Concert Photos: Day 1

While it’s true that the Velorama Music Festival happens in conjunction with the Colorado Classic bike race, I have to admit… I was all about the music. Friday’s lineup was stellar even though Modest Mouse was moved to Saturday night after travel complications. The afternoon started off with Denver locals Slow Caves, who looks pretty darn good up on a massive stage if I do say so myself. Hop Alongs took the stage next. I had never seen these guys live before and they sounded wonderful.

But truly, The Kills stole the night and perhaps it’s best that Modest Mouse ended up not playing. Wow. Just wow. Hopefully, you can see the energy that Alison Mosshart brought to the stage in the photos below.

Velorama took over all of the Coors Field east lot, with music on one end, and bike events and food on the other. Personally, I think they could even add another stage next year, but with bands like these, one stage is just fine too. Day two and three photos coming soon!
