Rachael Yamagata at the Bluebird Theater

Note: Tickets were provided by Rachael Yamagata but all words and photos are mine.

I am not sure how I found Happenstance, Rachael Yamagata‘s 2004 album. I assume it was her super fun single “1963” being played on KBCO, but whatever it was, I fell in love. I just looked and the song “Letter Read” has over 300 plays alone in my iTunes, and who knows how many have happened since I switched to Rdio. Her subsequent albums have been just as pretty.

Why it took me almost a decade to see her live? Stupidity? Laziness? No clue. Her voice is outstanding, and so is her sense of humor. I kinda wish we’d been able to do shots after the show.

And with that bit of stalkery commentary, check out my pics.

Rachel still has some summer tour dates, so be sure to catch her.
That means you, my home town of Annapolis.
