Every year, KOOL 105 has an awesome summer concert featuring great bands at Fiddler’s Green. This year was probably my favorite line-up ever because I finally (FINALLY) got to see Tears For Fears. Openers included Berlin and The B-52’s.
Unfortunately, The B-52’s had photographers only shoot from the soundboard and asked for us to only take photos of the three of them together, which was almost mathematically impossible – so I have no photos from their set to show you. The crowd had a blast dancing to all their hits, and that is what really matters, right?
Berlin’s Teri Nunn has kept her singing chops, and sounded fantastic. She was all over the stage while the band performed a great mix of old favorites and new songs. In fact, I enjoyed them much more than I thought I would – so Berlin can claim a new (or re-newed) fan.
Now. Let’s talk Tears For Fears. Disclosure: Yes, one of my favorite bands of all time, who I still listen to constantly. To be able to finally see them live after 30 years was unbelievable, but to photograph them too? It’s been a great month.
Both Roland and Curt still sound tremendous vocally, and like Berlin, the set-list was a great mix of their songs. I will admit to sitting on the lawn later and tearing up when they performed Woman In Chains.
You’re gonna forgive me for taking a million photos, right?
Thanks to the people from KOOL for putting together such an amazing night.
